The 18th Multinational Congress on Microscopy will take place at the Generali Convention Center in Trieste, an international hub for research, innovation and scientific exchange.

The Congress Venue
A landmark venue in Trieste’s scientific landscape
The Generali Convention Center is located in Porto Vecchio (now PortoVivo), Trieste’s historic port district, within easy reach of the city centre and overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Created through the redevelopment of Warehouses 27 and 28, the centre brings new life to the area’s industrial architecture through more than 10,000 square metres of modern and versatile event space.
Opened in 2020 for the EuroScience Open Forum, it has a natural connection with Trieste’s identity as an international city of science.
Spaces for Science and Exchange
The Generali Convention Center brings the different activities of 18MCM together within a single, connected venue. Its auditoria, conference rooms, exhibition halls and shared areas are designed to support the scientific programme while making it easy for participants to move between sessions, posters, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
Hall 28: the core exhibition ecosystem
Hall 28 will be a focal point of the 18MCM experience, bringing together exhibitors, scientific posters and congress services in a single, highly visible environment.
More than an exhibition area, it will provide a lively setting for discovering new technologies, exploring scientific contributions and meeting other participants between sessions.

With 1.942 m², Hall 28 offers ample space for exhibition stands, poster displays, congress services and informal meeting areas.
Easy to explore
Its open layout will keep the different areas visually connected and easy to navigate, helping participants move naturally between exhibitors, posters and services.

The Generali Convention Center is located in PortoVivo, the redeveloping historic port area of Trieste, close to the railway station and the city centre.

Science, history and the sea
Trieste Beyond the Congress
Trieste is a city shaped by encounters: between Central Europe and the Mediterranean, historic architecture and contemporary research, urban life and the Adriatic landscape.
From the venue, participants can explore the city’s waterfront, historic cafés and distinctive cultural heritage. Piazza Unità d’Italia, the Canal Grande and the centre’s Austro-Hungarian architecture are all within the wider central area, while the castles of Miramare and San Giusto offer two different perspectives on the city and its history.
